"Who are you?" - You

I am Ben, a Graphic Artist and Designer based in Ireland. I've been a professional designer for roughly 5 years now. I'm passionate about print and digital design especially supported by great illustration and animation. - Me

"What are your strengths?" - You

I thrive when working in new mediums. I like to think of myself as flexible that way. I enjoy getting involved in the nitty gritty, stepping away from the computer, and getting my hands dirty. Then coming back in and really refining the work. I like to take risks, and try not to use the same solution twice meaning I am always chasing new tools & mediums in my craft. I'm great with communication and have healthy working relationships with all my clients- Me

"Why should we hire you?" - You

Have you read all those strengths? - Me

"What are your weaknesses?" - You

Well it took me about five hours to answer these questions. - Me

"What are your creative capabilites?" - You

On the brand side of things, I've created full brand identity systems and rolled out print campaigns for logos, flyers, letterheads, business cards, signage, and all the other essentials brands need.
On top of that, on the digital and UI side, I’ve designed, built, and coded websites—ranging from artisanal portfolios and contact points to full e-commerce sites.
In the world of print, I’ve designed books, pamphlets, and brochures, from cover to cover and all the bits in between.
If animation is what you're interested in, I've worked with hand-drawn, old-school onion-skinning techniques, keyframing computer-age CG with After Effects, Rive, and Lottie, and even programmed animation using CSS and Cavalry.
Beyond that, I have a love for illustration and am always excited and open to tackling projects in fields I’ve never interacted with before. I even once hand-painted signage using magnetic paint for a local children’s backpack charity—so I’d say my skills are quite varied..

"Who is your dream client?" - You

My dream client is someone who approaches their project with enthusiasm, trusting me with their design needs while letting me know they like and dislike. Clients who are open to taking creative risks and who's feedback pushes me to deliver exceptional work.

But other than that, I'm not looking for a client of a specific size or from a certain industry. I’ve worked with giant, multinational corporations and one person start-ups. I’ve worked with telecoms firms, soap makers, restaurants, jewellers, personal fitness coaches, wholesalers, croissant bakers, and opticians. - Me

"What was the last book you read?" - You

The Will of the many by James Islington  - Me

"What are your rates?" - You

I estimate for each project based on the entire scope of the work. If you Email me, or fill out a contact form, I can put together an estimate  - Me

"What questions haven't I asked you?" - You

You didn't ask about my love of cooking, my obsession with the Concorde plane, or the names of my two dogs, my hobbies (climbing, surfing, reading and improv comedy to name a few). But I hope we can get to that and more when we start working together  - Me

"Ok perfect! That concludes this kind of serious fake interview. I'll be in touch soon." - You

Sounds Good! thanks for taking the time to read this silly old thing and I look forward to hearing from you.  - Me
